If you thought the Silverado 1500’s bigger siblings, the Silverado 2500HD and Silverado 3500HD, were as big and bad as a truck could get, think again. The Bowtie Brand just unveiled three new Chevrolet work trucks at NTEA The Work Truck Show in Indianapolis last month: the Silverado 4500HD, Silverado 5500HD, and Silverado 6500HD.
Available on 2WD and 4WD platforms, these massive work trucks will take their power from a 6.6-liter Duramax diesel engine, which produces 350 horsepower and a whopping 700 lb-ft of torque. But it’s not just power you’ll need to get the tough jobs done; these Silverados also keep their drivers connected while on the go, with available perks like OnStar and Commercial Link, wireless smartphone charging, Apple CarPlay™, Android Auto™, Bluetooth, and a built-in 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot.
“Chevy’s designers and engineers were obsessed with making this Silverado the most customer-focused medium duty truck of any major competitor,” commented Ed Peper, U.S. vice president, GM Fleet. “By customer-focused, I mean work-ready trucks that are easy to upfit, easy to drive, easy to service and easy to own.”
Chevrolet will release order guides for the new work trucks this spring, and pricing guides will become available this summer. The Silverado 4500HD, 5500HD, and 6500HD models will all go into production late this year.
Test drive these brawny beasts for yourself when they arrive on our lot here at Fred Caldwell Chevrolet.
