what’s new for Chevy

Believe it or not, 2017 is on its way out with just about two months left this year. That means 2018 is right around the corner—and with it are some exciting updates to the Chevrolet lineup. We at Fred Caldwell Chevrolet did our homework to determine what’s new for Chevy next year. Here’s what we found.

Major Updates

Among the Chevy models getting serious updates are the Camaro, Colorado, Corvette, Equinox, Express, Tahoe, and Traverse. For example, the Corvette gets Carbon 65 special edition Grand Sport and Z06 models to mark the Corvette’s 65th birthday while the Express gets a range of new engine options, including the Silverado’s 4.3-liter V6. Speaking of new engines, the 2018 Equinox is being offered with a turbo-diesel powertrain. Another big change is the addition of more occupant space inside the three-row Chevy Traverse, as well as the new nine-speed automatic transmission.

Minor Updates

The Cruze, Impala, Silverado pickup lineup, Sonic, Suburban, and Trax will all be offered with minor trim changes for 2018.

No Change

For 2018, Chevy has made no changes to the Bolt, City Express, Malibu, Spark, and Volt.

End of the Road

Next year sadly marks the discontinuation of the Chevy SS. If you have been waiting to get this powerful performance sedan, now is the time to think about pulling the trigger.
