Last month, the MLB took its mid-season break to hold the always exciting All-Star Game. Each year, one player earns the MVP award and, as has been tradition for a while now, gets to select a new Chevrolet vehicle as his prize.
This year’s MLB All-Star MVP was Robinson Cano of the Seattle Mariners, who hit the much-needed go-ahead homerun in the 10th inning, ultimately earning victory for the American League. After being named the MVP, Robinson Cano was faced with a difficult decision: the Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport or the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 off-road pickup truck.
After a little deliberation, Cano said, “I’ll take the Corvette.” Clearly, Cano is as wise as his bat is fierce.
It was a second chance at a Corvette for Cano, who nearly purchased one three years ago. “You know what, to be honest,” he said, “I almost bought that car three years ago. But I was like, you know what, I’ll get it later. And look at what happened tonight.”
The 2018 Chevrolet Grand Sport is a force to be reckoned with, much like Cano. It boasts a 0-to-60 time of just 3.6 seconds (probably a little faster than Cano can get on foot as he rounds the bases) and offers up 460 horsepower.
