New Cars, New Designs: Chevy at the NAIAS

Chevy made quite the stir at the recent North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), also called the Detroit Auto Show. This is one of the largest gatherings in the auto industry, offering brands an opportunity to showcase their latest research and designs. Exciting new projects at the show included the 2018 Chevy Equinox, 2018 Traverse, and a life-size LEGO Batmobile.

To begin with, the LEGO Batmobile was a surprise for many, a massive display with over 350,000 bricks. It didn’t drive, but it was one of the show’s biggest draws, according to Car and Driver. Perhaps more exciting for some drivers was the new Chevrolet Traverse, with a truck-like design and powerful new features. This includes an available turbocharged engine, a refreshed exterior, and the latest technologies.

“This all-new Traverse offers the ultimate in style and convenience with the versatility customers need and a thoughtful, spacious design,” said Alan Batey, president of GM North America and global brand chief for Chevrolet.

The 2018 Chevy Equinox also made headlines. This model comes with a drastic weight reduction—losing hundreds of pounds, and some new technologies. Turbocharging improves performance and efficiency, while features like smartphone connectivity work to keep you entertained and informed.

The 2017 Chevy Bolt, 2017 Corvette Z06, 2017 Corvette Stingray, 2017 Corvette Grand Sport, and the Chevy truck line also made appearances at the show. We can’t wait to see what the brand comes up with next year.
