2017 Chevrolet Bolt’s PowertrainChevrolet took the cover off of the 2017 Bolt at last month’s North American International Auto Show in Detroit, revealing an all-new EV that goes further, rides smoother, and delivers more power than any version before it. Taking everything they’ve learned from the previous concept models of the Chevrolet Bolt, engineers have delivered the most advanced version ready to conquer the market.

Breaking down EV stereotypes, the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt is sleek, versatile, powerful, and practical. Thanks to the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt’s powertrain, the EV promises to deliver more than 200 miles of all-electric driving range at a price near $30,000 (after tax credits), making it one of the most affordable long-range EV vehicles in its segment.

The Bolt uses a sophisticated battery and motor combination to put out impressive power and deliver long-range driving capability. The battery is made with nickel-rich lithium-ion, capable of holding 60 kWh of energy in 288 cells that are split into five sections of 10 modules. The Bolt uses a single electric motor that is capable of producing to 266 lb-ft of torque and 200 hp of motoring power – enough power to sprint from 0-60 mph in less than 7 seconds.
