The Chevrolet Volt just might be the next big movie star. Chevrolet recently announced that the electric car will be making its movie debut in Disney’s upcoming sci-fi adventure film, Tomorrowland. The movie takes place against the backdrop of the present day and the futuristic “Tomorrowland,” where anything is possible.
“Tomorrowland is a place where nothing is impossible, which is something that Chevrolet believes can exist in the here and now,” said Tim Mahoney, vice president of Global Chevrolet. “The Chevrolet spirit reflects the hopes and possibilities of tomorrow in real instruments of change for today like the next-generation Chevrolet Volt.”
Along with the Chevy Volt movie debut, Chevrolet and Disney have teamed up before. In December 2012, the two companies got together to offer an in-depth look into the automotive design process at Epcot. This special ride showed visitors just what it takes to create a vehicle as innovative as the 2016 Chevrolet Volt. The Volt joins other Chevrolets who have already had their movie debuts including the Chevrolet Camaro in Transformers and the new Corvette Stingray.
Tomorrowland and the 2016 Chevrolet Volt will begin marketing in early May, with the film debuting on May 22nd in the United States. Check back with Fred Caldwell Chevrolet then for a look at the Chevy Volt’s big screen debut!
