It looks like the electric vehicle segment is about to get significantly more competitive. Chevrolet recently confirmed that it is moving forward with Bolt electric vehicle production, assembling the brand’s newest electric vehicle that was recently introduced at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit.
“The message from consumers about the Bolt EV Concept was clear and unequivocal: Build it,” said Alan Batey, GM North America President. “We are moving quickly because of its potential to completely shake up the status quo for electric vehicles.”
The all-electric vehicle will present a futuristic styling that matches its innovative powertrain. While specific numbers on the electric powertrain’s performance have yet to be released, General Motors has stated that the vehicle will offer a company-estimated 200 miles of range, all for the affordable price of about $30,000. Because it combines both a long range and a value-oriented price, it’s possible that the brand-new Bolt will change how the world looks at electric vehicles.
