Reese, a 2014 Silverado High Country truck, is taking a load off this Veteran’s Day. However, this truck’s sole mission is to support our military veterans. Chevrolet donated the Silverado to the Achilles Freedom Team of Wounded Veterans last year.
Nicknamed by the Achilles Freedom Team because of its saddle brown interior, “Reese”, transports cycles from the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Maryland to events throughout the country. This truck and these cycles are all part of a program to help wounded veterans rebuild their life through races and marathons using the cycles.
Achilles Freedom also utilizes the truck with frequent visits to Walter Reed to recruit new members and work with physical therapists. It also helps move the cycles, helmets and other gear from race to race. Reese is an integral part of the Achilles Freedom team.
Although cycle races and marathons have ceased until January, Reese will still be hard at work through the off season. The truck will continue to make monthly trips Walter Reed and work to recruit new members for next season.
Chevrolet continually honors our Veteran’s by supporting groups, donating special items, and also giving military discounts. Fred Caldwell Chevrolet is proud to be a part of a company that honors such a special part of our country.
