This week marks the third annual teamGM Cares week and coincidentally – September 9th is also National Teddy Bear Day. In honor of both events and September being Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, 3 members of the GM Asset Management team, who are also cancer survivors, will be escorting 48 small teddy bears and one very large bear to the Sunshine on Wheels program at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York.
Before settling in with their new owners, the 48 small bears will be driven through the center of New York in a new Chevy Suburban. The 51-inch large bear will ride shotgun in the brand new Corvette Stingray Convertible. Each bear dons a gold ribbon in honor of National Childhood Awareness Month.
GM and the Sunrise Association, of which Memorial Sloan Kettering is an affiliate, have had an ongoing partnership for years. The Sunshine on Wheels program slates to bring in-hospital games and activities to current patients undergoing chemotherapy.
