This week marks the middle of the Major League Baseball season and last night, the American League and National League battled it out in the All-Star Game in Minnesota. Since Chevrolet is the Official Vehicle of Major League Baseball so for the 2015 MLB All-Star game they decided to give the All-Star MVP a choice between a brand new Corvette Stingray Convertible and the new Chevy Silverado. Not a bad choice to have.
The game started off right for the AL when they took a 3-0 lead in the first inning. The runs resulted from a Derek Jeter Double, a Mike Trout triple, and a Miguel Cabrera homerun. Trout would end up going 2 for 3, with a double, a triple, and two RBIs. These numbers would lead him to become the 2015 Most Valuable Player of the game and from there, Trout was left with a big choice: 2014 Chevy Silverado 1500 or 2014 Corvette Z51 Convertible.
He chose the Corvette Convertible.Trout told MLB.com the choice was a no brainer.
“When they came out and told me I’ve got a choice, I was pretty pumped. I got my dad a truck a couple weeks ago. So I probably would have chosen a truck if I hadn’t done that. But you gotta go with the sports car.”
Chevrolet made it a tough choice, but overall, we’re happy with Trout’s decision on the new Corvette Convertible. In addition, Chevrolet is auctioning off another Corvette Stingray Z51 and all of the proceeds to to benefit the United Way, MLB Charities, and MLB Players Trust.
We’ve got a Corvette Convertible in stock at Fred Caldwell Chevrolet. Stop by to check out the new Stingray and take it for a test drive with the convertible top down!
