Fred Caldwell Chevrolet and General Motors are loyally committed to the safety of its vehicle owners. In the wake of the Ignition recall, we want to provide you with imperative information regarding the recall and what to do if you own a vehicle that has been affected.

Understanding the Ignition Recall

The recent GM recall includes certain 2003-2011 model year vehicles regarding a condition with the ignition switch that could allow the switch to unintentionally shift from the “run” position to the “accessory” or “off” position. This shift could turn off the engine or most of the electrical components and could result in a reduction or complete loss in power of the vehicle.

Is your vehicle affected?

If your vehicle is affected by the recall, you should receive a notification from GM. Below is a chart detailing the affected vehicles:

2005-2010 Chevy Cobalt
2006-2011 Chevy HHR
2007-2010 Pontiac G5
2006-2010 Pontiac Solstice
2003-2007 Saturn Ion
2007-2010 Saturn Sky
